[photopress:bookdart.jpg, full, alignleft] I’ve been drooling over the book darts in Levenger’s catalog for years, but I held strong and didn’t order. Recently Scott Berkun mentioned book darts on his blog, only he went straight to the source — the company that produces them. Then a really cool thing happened. A few other blogs picked up on the Scott’s entry, and eventually the company’s owner posted a comment on the article. He even went one step further and offered readers of Berken’s blog the product at wholesale prices.

I love the way the web can change the rules (company owner makes an unusual offer to the public) and the way it can close the distance between very separate groups. And, it goes to show, sometimes it just pays to lurk. :)

Dude - you won’t regret getting some. I’m thought for sure that I’d never use them, find them too book-geek or cumbersome, but they’re like crack. I use them all the time. I used so many of them in researching my next book that I went and ordered more: I’ve got hundreds of these things.
